107 Kerala Tourism has announced Yaanam 2025, India’s first travel-themed literary festival, to be held in Thiruvananthapuram from December 5–7. The three-day event aims to bring together travel writers, filmmakers, photographers, and explorers to celebrate storytelling through journeys. Tourism Minister P. A. Mohamed Riyas said Yaanam will highlight the “transformative power of travel” and promote Kerala as a hub for creative tourism. “We want Yaanam to redefine how travel and writing intersect — where destinations are not just visited but understood, experienced, and narrated,” he said. The festival will feature panel discussions, workshops, film screenings, and curated experiences led by well-known authors and travel creators. Sessions will explore topics such as eco-tourism narratives, responsible travel, and the digital storytelling era. Yaanam 2025 is being organised by Kerala Tourism in collaboration with the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) and leading travel publications. Officials confirmed that the event will become an annual global platform to promote travel literature and sustainable tourism models. Kerala, already a frontrunner in experiential tourism, hopes to attract both domestic and international visitors through Yaanam — positioning the state as a destination where nature, narrative, and creativity converge.
