407 Adobe’s Firefly app goes mobile with brand-safe generative AI tools, real-time collaboration, and third-party model integrations — redefining creative workflows on the go. Adobe is taking generative creativity mobile. On June 20, the company officially launched its Firefly app for iOS and Android, bringing its AI-powered image and video generation tools to smartphones worldwide. The app includes advanced features like Text to Image, Text to Video, Generative Fill, and Generative Expand, allowing users to create and edit multimedia content using natural language prompts. All assets sync seamlessly with Adobe Creative Cloud, enabling creators to start on mobile and finish on desktop in apps like Photoshop or Premiere Pro. But Firefly’s mobile debut is more than just a port — it’s a platform. Adobe also introduced Firefly Boards, a collaborative moodboarding tool in public beta that lets teams brainstorm in real time using AI-generated visuals and video clips. The tool supports iterative editing and remixing across multiple media types. To expand creative flexibility, Firefly now integrates third-party models from OpenAI, Google, Luma AI, Runway, Pika, and Ideogram, alongside Adobe’s own. This gives users a broader palette of styles and capabilities, all within a unified interface. Adobe is also reinforcing transparency with Content Credentials, embedded metadata that shows which models were used to generate each asset. According to the company, Firefly users have already created over 24 billion assets globally, with traffic growing 30% quarter-over-quarter. With this launch, Adobe is positioning Firefly as the go-to mobile destination for AI-assisted ideation, creation, and collaboration—whether you’re a solo creator or part of a global brand team.
