TL;DR:

At the 2026 US Open, experiential marketing is shifting from spectacle to service. Brands are using cooling, transport, clinics and citywide events to solve fan needs and extend engagement, backed by record attendance growth and a longer tournament window.

At the 2026 US Open, brands are moving experiential marketing beyond courtside spectacle and toward utility, access and citywide participation. The tournament runs Aug. 23-Sept. 13 across a record 22-day schedule, giving sponsors a longer runway to turn tennis fandom into services and social experiences rather than one-off photo ops.

The shift matters because the audience is already expanding. The 2025 US Open drew 1,144,562 attendees, up 9% year on year, while Fan Week attracted 239,307, up 10%, according to the USTA. For marketers, that makes the event less a two-week media buy than a high-density consumer platform with repeated physical touchpoints.

Several activations show the pattern. Dove is combining on-site style content, cooling and beauty touch-ups with women’s finals watch parties at 10 women-owned sports bars nationwide. eos used a tennis clinic for 100 women of color to link product sampling with participation and access, while evian extended its 40th year as a US Open sponsor into a French Alpine-themed public event in Brooklyn.

IHG is tackling a friction point instead: getting home after late matches. Its complimentary Racquet Cruiser offers rides from Arthur Ashe Stadium to selected Manhattan hotels, with charging, Wi-Fi, food and post-match content. The USTA’s Deanne Pownall framed the broader sponsor brief succinctly: “Our partners are always leaning into, ‘What can we do to help the fan experience?’”

The lesson for sports marketers is practical. As premium events become broader cultural platforms, experiential sponsorship works harder when the brand removes friction, expands access or creates a reason to participate beyond the venue. The next competitive edge may be less about the loudest activation and more about the most useful one.
