Rime raises $24M to scale enterprise voice AI, strengthen real-time speech models and expand adoption across regulated industries.

Article:

Rime has raised $24 million in Series A funding to expand its enterprise voice AI infrastructure, as demand grows for faster, more natural speech interfaces in customer service, healthcare and other regulated sectors. M13 led the round, with participation from Twilio Ventures, Corazon Capital, Unusual Ventures and Cadenza Ventures.

The funding will support new voice interaction models designed for real-time enterprise applications. Rime is positioning itself beyond basic text-to-speech, focusing on latency, pronunciation accuracy, conversational rhythm and deployment flexibility—factors that determine whether AI voice agents can handle high-volume, high-stakes conversations without frustrating users.

“The design patterns that will define the speech-to-speech era of AI haven’t been built yet,” said Morgan Blumberg, partner at M13. He argued that Rime’s combination of AI research and linguistic expertise could provide infrastructure for voice applications in complex, regulated environments.

Rime also appointed Rafael Valle as chief scientist. Valle previously led audio understanding at Meta Superintelligence Labs and worked with NVIDIA’s Applied Deep Learning Research audio team, strengthening the company’s research credentials as competition intensifies across enterprise voice AI.

The company’s technology targets a persistent barrier in conversational AI: response delay. Rime says its Mist v3 text-to-speech model delivers approximately 40-millisecond time-to-first-byte performance at the 90th percentile on specified hardware. Its newer Coda model is built for conversational use and can run in the cloud or on-premises, giving enterprises more control over performance and sensitive data.

The timing reflects a fast-expanding market. A leading digital publication cites projections that enterprise voice intelligence will grow 192% to $49.8 billion by 2031, while companies using AI in contact centres report operational cost reductions of 20% to 30%.

Rime’s challenge will be converting technical speed and realism into reliable deployments that improve customer experience, reduce call friction and meet compliance requirements at scale.
