229 Apple’s long-rumored foldable iPhone may finally see the light of day in late 2026 — and it could launch with a crease-free display and a premium price tag of around $2,400, according to new supply chain reports cited by The Elec. Unlike most foldables in the market today, Apple’s design is reportedly prioritizing durability and aesthetics, aiming to eliminate the visible crease that plagues current-generation foldables from Samsung and others. Two prototypes are said to be under development: one with a vertically folding clamshell (flip) design and another that opens horizontally like a book. However, the flip version appears to be in the lead. The foldable iPhone is expected to feature a display that ranges from 6 inches to 7 inches when unfolded, with LG Display rumored to be involved in producing the crease-resistant panel. It’s also likely that the foldable will ship with Apple’s highest-end chip and camera system, positioning it well above the current iPhone Pro Max tier. Apple has reportedly shelved plans for a foldable iPad in the near term and instead will focus on delivering a premium foldable phone that justifies the high price point with hardware reliability and a better user experience. If launched, it will mark Apple’s entry into a product category already crowded — but still maturing — in the Android ecosystem. You Might Be Interested In e.l.f.
