150 Heinz launches an interactive AI tool that lets consumers invent new condiment flavors—blending personalization, gamification, and first-party data capture. Heinz is handing over the sauce spoon to its fans—sort of. The brand has launched a new AI-powered “Flavor Generator” that lets consumers co-create custom condiment flavors by selecting ingredients, naming their creation, and submitting it for a chance to be produced. The tool, hosted on Heinz’s website, uses generative AI to suggest flavor combinations based on user inputs like preferred base (e.g., ketchup, mayo), spice level, and complementary ingredients. Once a flavor is generated, users can personalize the name and packaging, then share it on social media. The campaign is part of Heinz’s broader push into personalized product innovation. It also serves as a first-party data play, capturing consumer preferences and flavor trends that could inform future product development. To drive engagement, Heinz is gamifying the experience: the top three fan-submitted flavors will be produced in limited batches, with winners receiving exclusive product kits and social shoutouts. The brand is also partnering with food creators to showcase their own AI-generated sauces. “Heinz has always been about bold flavor and consumer obsession,” said Cristina Kenz, Chief Growth Officer at Kraft Heinz. “This tool lets fans become flavor innovators—and gives us a direct line into what they’re craving next.” The Flavor Generator is live through July 15, with winners announced in August. It’s a tasty blend of tech, creativity, and community.
