206 Late on Monday night, President Frank-Walter Steinmeier of the Federal Republic of Germany, along with his wife, arrived in Muscat for an official visit to the Sultanate of Oman. The reception at the Royal Airport was led by H E Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidi, the Foreign Minister. Other notable figures present included H E Eng Saeed bin Hamoud al Ma’awali, the Minister of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology, who is also the Head of the Mission of Honour. Additionally, H E Dr. Rahma bint Ibrahim al Mahrouqi, the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation, and H E Maitha bint Saif al Mahrouqi, Oman’s Ambassador to Germany, were in attendance. H E Dirk Loelke, the Ambassador of Germany to Oman, and members of the German Embassy in Muscat also welcomed the visiting delegation. President Steinmeier is accompanied by a delegation that includes Dr Tobias Lindner, Minister of State at the German Federal Foreign Ministry, Wolfgang Silbermann, Foreign Policy Advisor to the German Federal President, and various German officials. The purpose of this visit is to address matters of mutual interest between the two countries, fostering collaboration to achieve shared goals and aspirations. The agenda is expected to include discussions on current regional issues. This diplomatic engagement underscores the commitment to strengthen bilateral ties and deepen cooperation on key areas of concern.
