At a recent United Nations conference, Pakistan appealed for international assistance to help rebuild after a devastating flood that caused an estimated 16 billion dollars in damages. The flood, which occurred in late 2022, affected millions of people and destroyed infrastructure, homes, and crops. Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Imran Khan, called on the international community to provide financial and technical assistance to help the country recover and rebuild. Khan emphasized the need for long-term, sustainable solutions to prevent future natural disasters from having such a severe impact on the country.
