61 Local organizations play a crucial role in making a positive impact within communities. However, they often face operational challenges that divert their attention from their core mission. At Walmart, we understand the unique needs of these organizations and are committed to supporting them. That’s why we are thrilled to introduce several enhancements to our Walmart Business and Spark Good platforms, aimed at alleviating the day-to-day challenges local organizations encounter while shopping, fundraising, and engaging with their supporters. Simplified Tax-Exempt Purchasing Process We are excited to unveil a new feature within Walmart Business that streamlines tax-exempt purchasing for eligible organizations. Now, eligible organizations can easily apply for tax-exempt status through Walmart Business. Once approved, they can shop for tax-exempt products both online via the Walmart Business website and in-store. With the Walmart Business app, organizations can effortlessly apply their tax-exempt status to in-store purchases, all within the app’s user-friendly interface. This feature extends to all users on the multi-user organizational account, simplifying the sharing of tax-exempt status for purchases. Furthermore, integrating in-store purchasing into the Walmart Business app enables organizations to track all purchases, both online and in-store, directly from their account. To utilize the streamlined in-store tax-exempt purchasing feature, organizations simply need to download the Walmart Business app. Walmart’s commitment to supporting local organizations goes beyond simplifying purchases. Through Walmart Spark Good, we consolidate Walmart’s community-giving programs into one cohesive platform. Spark Good empowers organizations to access a range of charitable resources, including local grants, a space tool for requesting space in front of Walmart facilities, round-up and registry programs allowing customers to donate funds or products while shopping on Walmart.com, and opportunities to engage Walmart associates in giving and volunteering. Based on feedback from local organizations and schools participating in these programs, we have enhanced Spark Good to provide easier access to all our charitable programs. Key improvements include: A centralized entry point at Walmart.com/nonprofits, along with a new partnership with Deed that enables organizations to get verified and engage with our charitable programs. The introduction of the Spark Good Associate platform facilitates easier engagement between organizations and Walmart and Sam’s Club associates. Nonprofits can now post volunteer opportunities and more. The launch of a user-friendly Spark Good Local Grants application developed by Walmart Global Tech simplifies the process for organizations applying for funding from Walmart stores, Sam’s Clubs, and distribution centers. We remain committed to reducing obstacles and enhancing support for local organizations. Whether it’s streamlining shopping processes, providing financial support through grants, or facilitating connections with new supporters, our goal is to continually innovate, allowing organizations to concentrate on making a meaningful difference in their communities.
