Algeria has given the green light to its highest-ever spending plan for 2024, with a significant portion of the funds dedicated to various projects.

The approved budget allocates 15,275 billion Algerian dinars (approximately $112.7 billion) for spending while anticipating revenues of around DZD9,105 billion ($67.9 billion). This results in a deficit of DZD6,170 billion ($44.8 billion).

The budget’s focus is on supporting the purchasing power of citizens and investing in projects within the country. The Finance Ministry is cited as noting that the budget is grounded on a conservative oil price assumption of $60 per barrel.

Additionally, the Ministry mentioned that the budget incorporates approximately DZD2894.5 billion ($21.3 billion) for capital expenditure as of late 2003.
