Intuit, known for platforms like TurboTax and QuickBooks, has teamed up with The Farmlink Project to combat food waste and reduce carbon emissions. Their collaboration has provided over 8 million meals to underserved communities in Los Angeles, preventing millions of pounds of food from going to waste since 2023. Additionally, they’ve avoided over 13,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions, equivalent to removing nearly 3,000 vehicles from the road for a year.

The partnership directs surplus fresh produce away from landfills to organizations serving communities in need, including schools in South Los Angeles. This initiative reflects Intuit’s commitment to environmental and social impact, aiming to reduce 2 million metric tons of CO2 emissions outside of its operations while benefiting communities.

According to Aidan Reilly, Co-founder of The Farmlink Project, this collaboration sets a model for companies and NGOs to address climate change and food insecurity.
