The Lowe’s Foundation has pledged a $1 million Gable Grant to SkillsUSA, supporting students nationwide as they commit to skilled trades careers. Celebrating this, select Lowe’s stores will host blue carpet events.

Additionally, Lowe’s aids SkillsUSA’s Work-Based Learning initiative, connecting students to industry partners for certification and career prep. Janice Dupré, Lowe’s Executive Vice President, underscores the significance of skilled trades careers. SkillsUSA National Signing Day on May 7 honors students entering skilled trades or further education. Lowe’s will recognize local “Trades Stars” at select stores, encouraging social media engagement

Lowe’s will roll out a blue carpet runway at stores in Charlotte, Chicago, Houston, Miami, and San Diego to honor local SkillsUSA students as “Trades Stars.” As part of the national campaign, SkillsUSA and the Lowe’s Foundation encourage students, teachers, and parents to engage on social media using the #TradesStars hashtag, showcasing students as they embark on their next chapter..
