Caterpillar will showcase its innovative technologies at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2023, including the giant autonomous Cat® 777 – a 100-ton off-highway truck equipped with the company’s autonomous hauling technology, Cat MineStar Command. The 5m tall truck will be on display in the automotive section at the Las Vegas Convention Center’s West Hall, dwarfing the size of other vehicles on display in the automotive technology area – including exhibits by Sony, Honda, Ram, Peugeot, Toyota, among others.

“CES, the proving ground for breakthrough technologies and global innovators, is the ideal place for us to showcase our high-tech leadership,” said Denise Johnson, group president of Caterpillar Resource Industries. “People have seen us as an equipment company for more than a century, and they are now realizing that we are a high-tech company as well.”

In addition to the autonomous haulage technology, Caterpillar will also showcase construction and mining safety technologies, fleet management solutions, equipment health options, and material tracking systems. “Our technologies are changing the world by advancing autonomy, finding new ways to keep people safe, improving fleet productivity and building solutions that manage every aspect of an operation,” said Tony Fassino, group president of Caterpillar Construction Industries. “In addition to the fully autonomous mining trucks, we offer solutions that automate and provide remote operation of dozers, wheel loaders, excavators, and skid steer and compact track loaders. Along with the productivity and safety benefits, automation is another way we can contribute to helping our customers build a better, more sustainable world.”

The Cat 777 is designed for use in the mining and construction industries, operating without a driver to work around the clock in harsh environments. Visitors to the exhibit will be able to get a close-up look at the truck and learn about the role that Caterpillar technologies play in the mining and construction industries, as well as the positive impact that mining can have on the world.
