Telecom Egypt has reported a disruption in internet services across certain areas in the country due to a technical malfunction affecting a key network device. The company assured that its teams have successfully addressed the issue, and service is gradually being reinstated. Full restoration is anticipated in the coming hours, as stated by the company.

Engineer Mohamed Abu Talib, Vice President of Telecom Egypt, affirmed that compensations will be provided to all customers affected by the internet service interruption. However, compensation procedures will commence once the service is fully restored in all governorates.

In televised statements, Abu Talib clarified that the company has already rectified the technical fault in one of the main cables, and service has initiated recovery in specific areas. Nonetheless, complete service recovery is pending in all regions.

Upon the complete restoration of service across all governorates, users will be eligible for compensation, ensuring that affected citizens are appropriately addressed following the temporary disruption.
