China is willing to collaborate with India as long as the relationship develops solidly, according to Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who also emphasized that both countries are committed to maintaining calm in border areas and have continued to communicate through diplomatic and military-to-military channels.

“We stand ready to work with India in the direction toward steady and sound growth of China-India relations,” the minister told reporters. This declaration was made in response to the conflict that erupted on December 9 in the Tawang area of Arunachal Pradesh between Indian and Chinese soldiers. For the 17th round of their Corps Commander Level Meeting, India and China met at the Chushul-Moldo border crossing point on the Chinese side and decided to maintain the Western Sector’s security and stability.
