Mark D. Millett, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Steel Dynamics, has announced significant leadership appointments within the company, acknowledging the exceptional contributions of Jim and Chad.

Millett expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I am excited and pleased to recognize Jim and Chad for their outstanding leadership and positive impact within our company.” He emphasized their embodiment of Steel Dynamics’ core principles, including safety, performance, and innovation, while consistently prioritizing the company’s workforce.

James Anderson has been appointed Senior Vice President of the Long Products Steel Group, effective May 1, 2024. In this role, Anderson will oversee the company’s Long Products Steel Group operations, which encompass four EAF long product steel mills and several smaller facilities, representing nearly five million tons of annual steel shipping capability. Anderson, who previously served as President and Chief Operating Officer of New Millennium Building Systems, brings extensive experience in steel fabrication and operational leadership to his new role. He holds a bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering from Grove City College and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.

Upon Anderson’s transition, Chad Bickford will assume the role of Vice President for the Steel Fabrication Group, overseeing New Millennium Building Systems, which comprises seven steel joist and deck manufacturing facilities across the U.S. and Mexico. Bickford, who has held various leadership positions within Steel Dynamics since 2003, including roles within New Millennium, brings a wealth of commercial, operational, and strategic expertise to his new position. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Ohio University.

These leadership appointments underscore Steel Dynamics’ commitment to fostering talent and strategic growth within the organization, positioning the company for continued success and innovation in the steel industry.
