PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), a major accounting firm, announced a new agreement with OpenAI on Wednesday. This deal makes PwC the biggest customer and the first reseller of OpenAI’s enterprise product, ChatGPT Enterprise.

ChatGPT Enterprise is a special version of OpenAI’s chatbot designed for large corporations. PwC plans to deploy this tool to its vast workforce, including 75,000 employees in the U.S. and 26,000 in the UK.

This partnership aligns with PwC’s strategy of embracing generative AI (GenAI). They’ve already been discussing AI applications with most of their consulting clients and are even developing their own AI tools for tasks like tax return reviews.

While specific details about the financial terms and reselling plans are yet to be revealed, this deal signifies PwC’s commitment to AI technology. They’ve previously announced a $1 billion investment in this area, and the OpenAI partnership seems to be an extension of that plan. For OpenAI, this deal represents their growing reach in the corporate world, going beyond their existing collaboration with Microsoft.
