The 11th African Islamic Finance Summit, organized by the AlHuda Centre of Islamic Banking and Economics (CIBE), is scheduled to take place from March 5th to 7th, 2024, at Hotel Ambassador Hargeisa, Somaliland. The summit will be inaugurated by H.E. Musa Beihi Abdi, the President of Somaliland.

Media partners for the event include Financial IT, IFING, Islamic Finance, and True Cable TV. Supporting partners include the Somaliland Bankers Association (SLBA), Egyptian Islamic Finance Association, AL BARAKAH Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society Limited, and the Islamic Finance Research Institute, Ghana. The event is organized in association with the National Insurance Authority, Somaliland, and Bank of Somaliland, Republic of Somaliland.

The summit aims to provide practical insights into global efforts and achievements in Islamic banking and Takaful, highlighting the flexibility of Islamic financial markets amidst recent financial crises. The agenda covers various areas such as Islamic banking and finance, Takaful, Sukuk and Islamic capital markets, Islamic microfinance, Shariah governance, and investment opportunities in Africa.

Mr. Muhammad Zubair, CEO of AlHuda Centre of Islamic Banking and Economics, expressed excitement about hosting the summit in Somaliland, emphasizing its unique opportunity to explore Islamic finance potential in Africa and discuss strategies for financial inclusion and sustainable development. The summit aims to leverage Islamic finance as a catalyst for socio-economic development and prosperity in the region.

The event will feature esteemed speakers from the Islamic finance industry sharing expertise on various topics. Additionally, a two-day post-event workshop on Islamic banking, Takaful, and Islamic microfinance will be held from March 6th to 7th, 2024, providing deeper insights into fundamental concepts and mechanisms of Islamic finance.
