Perfios, a fintech-focused software-as-a-service firm, has secured $80 million (approximately Rs 662 crore) in funding from Teachers’ Venture Growth (TVG), a venture and growth investment arm of Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, the company announced on Wednesday.

This latest funding round propels Perfios to a valuation exceeding $1 billion, making it India’s second unicorn of 2024. Prior to this, Bhavish Aggarwal’s AI startup Krutrim claimed the title of the first unicorn this year.

At the helm of Perfios stands Sabyasachi Goswami, the CEO of Perfios Software Solution. A pivotal figure in the company’s success, Sabyasachi’s leadership has propelled Perfios to a position of prominence in the software-as-a-service sector within banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI). Sabyasachi’s journey in the FinTech/IT realm commenced with his role as Regional Sales Director for Middle East and APAC Regions at Sunoida Solutions in Dubai. Prior to that, he honed his expertise in the banking sector through stints with renowned institutions such as Axis, Standard Chartered, IDBI, HDFC, and Citi. With over 21 years of industry experience, Sabyasachi’s leadership has been instrumental in Perfios’ evolution into a trusted partner for industry players in the BFSI sector. His focus on innovation and customer experience has been pivotal in Perfios’ success.

Aside from his professional achievements, Sabyasachi is an alumnus of Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, Pune, and a graduate of Stanford Graduate School of Business. He is also an avid traveler and adventure enthusiast, boasting numerous state and national level championships in rock climbing and badminton.

Founded in 2008, Perfios currently serves the banking, financial services, and insurance industry across 18 countries, catering to over 1,000 financial institutions. The company aims to further expand its international footprint in markets such as South-East Asia, Middle East, and Africa, leveraging the raised funds towards strategic partnerships or acquisitions.
