49 Sysco Corporation, a global leader in foodservice distribution, has announced the grand opening of its new 454,000 square foot distribution center in Northampton, PA. The state-of-the-art facility, named Sysco Allentown, will create nearly 250 job opportunities and extend Sysco’s services to the Lehigh Valley, Northeast PA, Poconos, and Northern New Jersey. Greg Bertrand, Global Chief Operating Officer, highlighted the significance of the new center, stating, “Our team at Sysco Allentown is excited to bring customers in these important regions more of the best in foodservice with our team of industry experts, culinary professionals, on-trend products, and tailored delivery solutions.” He also emphasized the company’s Recipe for Growth strategy, which includes investments in their e-commerce platform, Shop, and customer-focused programs like Sysco Your Way and Sysco Perks!. The strategy also focuses on investing in specialty meat, produce, and Italian companies, and providing the right assortment for Asian cuisine. Sysco Allentown boasts a cutting-edge culinary center designed for collaboration with local customers to test and develop menus. The center will also offer access to Sysco Perks!, a free loyalty program providing qualifying members with up to six deliveries per week, exclusive offers, rewards, and up to $6,000 worth of industry-leading restaurant solutions. The new facility aims to expand the reach of Sysco Your Way (SYW), offering more local restaurants in Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, and Princeton University the flexibility to grow. The SYW program includes late evening order cut-offs, daily deliveries, no order minimums, and a dedicated sales and delivery team at no additional cost.
