The Big Bash League (BBL) has agreed to a reduction in content as part of a six-year, $1 billion media rights deal with Seven and Foxtel. The deal will give the two broadcasters exclusive rights to BBL matches and other cricket tournaments.

Cricket Australia CEO Kevin Roberts has said the deal will provide a “strong and sustainable future for cricket in Australia” and the increased revenue will be reinvested in grassroots cricket. However, BBL fans have expressed disappointment at the reduction in content.
