Airbus has shown positive signs of recovery in its aircraft delivery schedule, with November figures exceeding expectations. This surge comes after a temporary slowdown over the summer months and brings the planemaker closer to its year-end targets.
Industry sources revealed to Reuters that Airbus delivered a significant number of aircraft in November, exceeding 80 planes. This increase is attributed to a recently reached agreement with engine manufacturer CFM regarding short-term engine supplies.
As of November, Airbus has delivered a total of 643 aircraft for the year. To meet its annual target of “around 770” deliveries, the company needs to deliver 127 more planes in December. A more conservative analyst estimate places the target at 750 deliveries, requiring Airbus to deliver 107 aircraft in the remaining month.
These developments indicate that Airbus is making significant strides towards achieving its delivery goals for the year. The company’s ability to overcome the summer slump and ramp up production demonstrates its resilience and adaptability in the face of supply chain challenges.
The success of December deliveries will be crucial in determining the final outcome for Airbus in 2023. With renewed momentum and a focus on efficient production, the company is well-positioned to conclude the year on a strong note.
