India’s Connekkt Media acquires Hollywood’s Mob Scene, expanding its global footprint in entertainment marketing.
In a significant move to bolster its global presence, India’s Connekkt Media has acquired Hollywood marketing agency Mob Scene, renowned for its campaigns on blockbusters such as “Avatar,” “Dune,” and “Barbie.” This acquisition enables Connekkt Media to extend Mob Scene’s creative marketing expertise into new regions, including the U.K., Europe, the Middle East, India, and Asia.
Mob Scene, established in 2006 by Tom Grane and Brian Daly, has been pivotal in crafting promotional content for major franchises like “Fast & Furious,” “Stranger Things,” “Kung-Fu Panda,” and “Minions.” Under this new partnership, Grane will continue to lead as CEO, ensuring continuity in the agency’s creative direction.
“Joining forces with Connekkt Media marks an exciting new chapter for Mob Scene,” Grane remarked. “Their cutting-edge media technology and deep understanding of global entertainment align perfectly with our creative vision. This partnership will allow us to push the boundaries of storytelling, expand our reach into dynamic new markets, and continue delivering innovative, emotionally compelling campaigns that resonate with audiences worldwide.”
For Connekkt Media, which has established itself in Asia through film production and AI-driven rights marketplace solutions, this acquisition signifies a strategic expansion into North American markets. The company’s current projects include the anticipated Mohanlal-starrer “Vrusshabha” and an untitled Hindi-language action film featuring a prominent action star.
“Mob Scene is the gold standard in Hollywood film marketing,” stated Varun Mathur, co-founder of Connekkt Media. “As a global media company with its origin in India, this acquisition marks a strategic expansion for us into the U.S. and the rest of North America.”
Mathur emphasized that combining Mob Scene’s creative marketing prowess with Connekkt’s technological capabilities will drive “targeted and measurable marketing impact across mediums, geographies, and formats.”
The financial terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed. Drake Star’s Greg Bedrosian and Mohit Pareek served as exclusive financial advisors for the transaction.
