The Kraft Heinz Company Foundation has announced a significant three-year partnership extension and a $15 million commitment to Rise Against Hunger, an international nonprofit organization dedicated to combating global hunger. This renewed commitment builds upon a decade-long collaboration between Kraft Heinz and Rise Against Hunger, aimed at addressing food insecurity and enhancing access to nutrition worldwide.

Andrea Budelli, President of The Kraft Heinz Company Foundation and Chief R&D Officer of Developed & Emerging Markets at Kraft Heinz, expressed the company’s ambitious goal of providing 1.5 billion meals to those in need by 2025. Budelli highlighted the pivotal role of the extended partnership with Rise Against Hunger in advancing this mission, emphasizing the organization’s leadership in the fight against hunger.

As part of the extended partnership, Kraft Heinz will fully fund the addition of 36 million micronutrient sachets to 207 million meals distributed by Rise Against Hunger globally. Crafted by Kraft Heinz’s food science and nutrition experts, these sachets contain 18 essential vitamins and minerals to enrich fortified rice-soy meals, enhancing their nutritional value.

Furthermore, the partnership will support local and regional procurement initiatives, providing 5.5 million meals, and sustainable agriculture projects aimed at generating the equivalent of 250 million meals. Additionally, thousands of Kraft Heinz employees will engage in volunteer events and opportunities worldwide, furthering the impact of the partnership.

Rick Kearney, CEO of Rise Against Hunger, expressed gratitude for Kraft Heinz’s generous contributions, highlighting their significant impact on individuals and communities facing food insecurity, particularly in remote areas lacking infrastructure. Kearney emphasized Rise Against Hunger’s commitment to innovation and efficiency in delivering sustainable solutions to address hunger globally.
