JLL, a leading commercial real estate services firm, announced today the acquisition of SKAE Power Solutions (SKAE), a New York-based provider of data center technical and project management services. This strategic move strengthens JLL’s data center capabilities to address the booming demand in the sector.

The surge in data creation fueled by advancements in AI and machine learning is driving the need for more data centers. JLL’s recent data predicts a doubling of data storage capacity within the next five years, highlighting a significant market opportunity.

SKAE brings a wealth of expertise across various stages of data center management, including planning, engineering, installation, testing, and operations. This acquisition allows JLL to offer clients a comprehensive suite of services throughout the entire data center lifecycle.

Following the acquisition, SKAE’s 75 employees will join JLL’s Work Dynamics division, forming a dedicated Technical Services unit within the Data Center vertical. SKAE will continue to operate under its own name but as a JLL company.

“We are excited to welcome the SKAE team and enhance our technical service delivery for our clients’ critical data center assets,” said Neil Murray, CEO of Work Dynamics at JLL.

“SKAE will be key in scaling JLL’s capacity to meet clients’ needs and accelerating our abilities in data center management,” said Sanjay Rishi, Americas CEO of Work Dynamics at JLL.

“We are looking forward to joining the organization to bring our data center solutions expertise to JLL’s clients,” said Peter Skae, Principal at SKAE.

This acquisition positions JLL to become a more well-rounded data center solutions provider. By combining SKAE’s expertise with JLL’s global reach, the company is well-positioned to capitalize on the flourishing data center market.
